Nike + Liberty London

Last I remember, Liberty London was partnering with Target on clothing, picture frames and dishes covered in its trademark prints. In its latest partnership with Nike, Liberty has struck gold. How fantastic are these sneakers?!? Nike swoosh in Liberty print!

Here's a clear example of partnerships helping an established (if not somewhat old-school) brand reenergize and tap into a broader, younger market. And it's smart business. Let's be honest, the floral scarf and handkerchief set is fairly small.

This line launched today and is sold out. Hopefully, there will be more where this came from.

I'm not bashful about giving strangers compliments and then asking where they got aforementioned hair cut/dress/shoes. In my humble opinion, people don't give out enough compliments these days. And, more often than not, I'm itching to know where they found the item that's caught my eye. In return, strangers usually seem surprised and flattered.

Last week I found myself on the metro, unable to take my eyes off a guy's feet. He had on these remixed desert boots, and I was in love (with the shoes, not the guy). Unfortunately, I think this fellow's girlfriend confused my checking out his shoes for checking him out. We made eye contact, and it was clear that I shouldn't compliment this guy's shoes and I definitely shouldn't ask to take a picture of them for my blog. Alas! Blogging opportunity botched!

Luckily, I found the shoes pretty easily online. Desert boots are everywhere, but not ones with red soles. So Guy on the Metro - If you're out there, compliments on the kicks! Girlfriend of the Guy on the Metro - You've got your 'back off' look down pact! Now you know I'm just a style blogger with no game. Sometimes that adoring glance gets me in trouble ...

Heart breaker

After some debate, I've decided to skip a full review of Oscars fashion. You watched the red carpet and looked at pictures this morning. You've got your own Best and Worst Dressed List. And, if you're like me, you're done discussing the appropriateness of Jennifer Hudson's breasts.

I came away with just one conclusion worth sharing, and I think it's something we all can agree on ...

There's nothing quite like a man in a classic, well tailored tux.

Forget the printed jackets, white-on-white or black-on-black shirt and tie. Done up the old fashioned way (with the help of a good tailor), you'll break hearts every time.

Then, he thought of more things he'd like to make out of the fabric. Thus was born his line, Zillion, and a striking collection of hoodies, shoelaces and belts. Now he's partnered with the original hip-guy-blog, Cool Hunting, on a line of skateboards, and the result is pretty arresting.
